The group of B vitamins includes a number of essential vitamins that are responsible for a variety of vital processes in the human body. This complex of vitamins is of particular importance for hard-training athletes and bodybuilders, as a number of B vitamins play a crucial role in the metabolism of macronutrients, in protein and glycogen metabolism and in the synthesis of amino acids. In other words, without an adequate supply of these vitamins, both post-workout recovery and muscle mass gain will be severely impaired.

As the vitamins of the vitamin B complex also play an important role in energy metabolism and contribute to a reduction in tiredness and fatigue, they can promote performance during training

Of particular interest to strength athletes is the fact that the vitamins of the vitamin B complex are involved in the metabolism of steroid hormones as well as in the regulation of hormone activity. If you are even vaguely aware of the importance of the body's hormone levels in building muscle mass and strength, then you will quickly realize how much a lack of vitamin B will affect your efforts in the gym.

Other interesting benefits of vitamin B12 and B2 include supporting the function of the immune system and protecting cells from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This is particularly important for hard-training athletes, as hard and intense training results in increased production of free radicals and can impair the function of the immune system for several hours. An adequate intake of B vitamins can therefore help to minimize these negative effects of training.

This is by no means all, as you will see below in the list of scientifically proven and generally recognized benefits of the individual B vitamins.

Of course, we have left nothing to chance and with a dosage of 300% of the officially recommended daily intake of the B vitamins contained, we have ensured that GN Laboratories Vitamin B-Complex also meets the increased requirements of people with an increased vitamin B requirement for various reasons. Unlike competitor products, which often contain insane amounts of B vitamins, we have found a quantity of 300% of the recommended dosage, which on the one hand is completely sufficient to cover an increased vitamin B requirement, but on the other hand is not so high that long-term use can lead to undesirable side effects and negative effects on health.

Who can benefit most from supplementing with vitamins from the vitamin B complex?

Athletes and physically active people often have an increased need for vitamins of the vitamin B complex, which is often difficult to meet through their normal diet. Other people who have an increased need for B vitamins are smokers, pregnant women, people who are exposed to a lot of stress, alcoholics and women who take the contraceptive pill.

Vegetarians and especially vegans may also find it difficult to meet their vitamin B requirements without the use of supplements, as some B vitamins are primarily found in animal foods. A prominent example of this is vitamin B12, which is not found at all in purely plant-based foods.
