Ashwagandha Health+ · 90 capsules
Ashwagandha is a plant that can be found in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan
The name comes from the Indian and means "smell of the horse". In Germany, this plant is also known as sleeping berry, winter cherry or Indian ginseng. If you look back in history, you will see that ashwagandha has been known in Ayurvedic medicine for over 3000 years.
As with most plants, the best and most concentrated ingredients are not found in the leaves, but in the root. In addition to fatty acids, amino acids, cholines, alkaolides and, above all, withanolides can be found here.
And that brings us to the main active ingredient in this medicinal herb. Withanolides are responsible for its effects, which are appreciated and loved all over the world. Their content in the extract should be as high as possible. But be careful! Not all information is correct. Why? Many manufacturers state a value above the 8-9% mark, but this is not entirely correct. This value can only be achieved if a gravimetric analysis is carried out. To keep it simple: here the amount of substance is determined by measuring the weight. The problem here is that not only withanolides, but also other similar substances are measured. The concentration may be overestimated by a factor of 2 to 3.
In our extract, the withanolide content is measured at molecular level using the HPCL method and is one of the most accurate measurement methods! In addition, alcohol and other chemical additives are not used in the manufacturing process!
How does ashwagandha work?
Ashwagandha is considered an adaptogen. Adaptogens are substances that trigger or support an adaptive reaction in the body. This can strengthen resilience. In general, it can be said that adaptogens have a balancing effect on the body, both mentally and physically. Important to mention: Adaptogens generally have no side effects and are not toxic to humans.
Taking ashwagandha CAN offer the following benefits
- has a stabilizing effect on blood sugar levels
- has both a stimulating (hypothyroidism) and inhibiting (hyperthyroidism) effect on thyroid problems
- it has a positive influence on potency in men
- it has a positive effect on symptoms during the menopause in women
- it has a neuroprotective effect and can improve the ability to concentrate
- Ashwagandha is considered a "false antioxidant", so it does not directly neutralize free radicals, but can support the cells in doing so!
- it has an anti-inflammatory effect and increases the activity of natural killer cells (NK cells)
- it can inhibit excessive production of cortisol, THE STRESS HORMONE #1
- it stimulates the GABA receptors and can thus contribute to inner calm and better sleep without directly making you tired
