Why is magnesium so important for the body?

Magnesium is a mineral that is significantly involved in a number of important processes in the body. Magnesium is an important component of hundreds of enzymes that are involved in the body's carbohydrate and protein metabolism and without magnesium it is not possible to build body proteins, including muscle protein (1,2). Magnesium is also essential for energy production in the mitochondria of cells and regulates the transmission of stimuli in muscles and nerves, making it an essential mineral for muscle function and performance (2,7). Magnesium plays an important role in muscle relaxation, which means that a magnesium deficiency can lead to muscle cramps and uncontrolled muscle twitching (8). Other consequences of magnesium deficiency can include constriction of the bronchi, which can lead to breathing difficulties and asthma attacks, and constriction of the blood vessels due to a lack of relaxation of the smooth muscles of the blood vessels, which can lead to high blood pressure and poorer blood flow to body tissues (2). But that's not all. Magnesium is also crucial for healthy teeth and bones. Magnesium plays an important role in bone stability and a magnesium deficiency can promote osteoporosis and joint problems (9,10).

Why is magnesium deficiency so widespread?

Numerous studies conducted by major organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO ) have concluded that a significant proportion of the world's population does not consume enough magnesium (11). They simply do not reach the recommended daily requirement of 300 to 400 mg of magnesium. This situation is exacerbated by the fact that this amount is often insufficient to meet the daily requirement, especially for people who are physically active or exposed to high levels of stress (12,2). In addition to a poor diet, alcohol consumption and the use of certain medications such as diuretics, ACE inhibitors, antihypertensives and laxatives also promote magnesium deficiency through increased excretion. Furthermore, athletes and physically active people need more magnesium due to increased muscle activity and increased loss of electrolytes through sweat. What are the advantages of GN Laboratories Magnesium Citrate compared to other magnesium products?

You can find a large number of different magnesium supplements on the supplement market in a wide variety of forms and practically all of these products claim to cover your magnesium requirements. However, many users are not aware that not all magnesium dosage forms are equally good, but have significantly different oral bioavailabilities. Bioavailability describes the amount of a nutrient that the body can actually absorb, while the rest of the magnesium ingested is excreted undigested by the body. Absolut keiner leit kritik die ich äußer könnte, finde die Kapslen auch nicht zu groß wie das anschneinend bei einigen anderen hier der Fall ist

Sehr gutes Magnesium

Ich nehme jeden Abend 1 - 2 Kapseln und bin wirklich sehr zufrieden mit den Kapseln. Ich mag auch das Pulver von GN aber die Kapseln finde ich praktischer, einfach mit etwas wasser schlucken und fertig
