Our body can produce most of the fats it needs itself from other fats. Unfortunately, this does not apply to omega-3 fatty acids, which is why they are also referred to as essential fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are incredibly important for our body and fulfill a variety of different functions. They are an essential component of cell membranes throughout the body (1,2) and are the starting point for the production of many hormones (2,3). These hormones in turn regulate blood clotting, inflammatory processes and the contraction and relaxation of arterial walls (2,3). Because of these effects, omega-3 fatty acids are considered by the European Union's Health Claims Directive to have a positive influence on maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels and supporting normal heart function. In addition, studies have shown that they also play an extremely important role for the metabolism (5,6), joint health (7) and the immune system (8 ) in the test groups. Two of the most important omega-3 fatty acids are eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA). These two fatty acids come mainly from fish, which is why they are also known as marine omega-3 fatty acids.

The strongest evidence for a positive effect of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation was found among participants in numerous studies related to heart disease. They appear to have contributed to a steady heart rhythm in the test groups (2,6,9,10). They also lowered blood pressure and heart rate in general (10,11). They promoted the function of the blood vessels in the participants and were able to alleviate inflammation (9,10,11).

In addition to the effect on the cardiovascular system, the effect on the metabolism in particular is an aspect that has been addressed in some studies. An optimal supply of omega-3 fatty acids in study participants resulted in their bodies using more fatty acids for energy (12). As a result, the body's muscle glycogen stores were spared. (13,14).

In addition to this, omega-3 fatty acids can potentially influence the results of a workout in another way. First and foremost are the strong anti-inflammatory properties that studies have shown in their participants. These anti-inflammatory properties could not only support regeneration after training. In the setting of the studies, they also helped to reduce training-related muscle pain, such as muscle soreness (13,14,15). In addition, omega-3 fatty acids were also able to relieve joint pain and promote the healing process in painful inflammation of the joints due to their anti-inflammatory effect in the test groups of various studies (7,15).

In summary, it can be said that the benefits of omega-3 supplementation can be extremely numerous. The entire human body benefits from an optimal supply of omega-3 fatty acids, which can also have an impact on training and maximum performance. You can only achieve true strength with performance. So what are you waiting for? Gymir was not giant in stature for no reason.

Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil products have a reputation for providing the human body with the required omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA in a readily usable form. Unfortunately, there are also huge differences in quality here, which you should be aware of when buying. The majority of fish oil products available on the market contain just 25% actual omega-3 fatty acids. Although the rest of the product usually consists of fatty acids, these do not provide the numerous benefits that omega-3 fatty acids can bring to your health. Gods Rage therefore relies on 75% omega-3 fatty acids and thus on a dose three times as high, so that you can rely on a product that works and really contains what it says on the tin.
