L-arginine as AAKG in tablet form

While most AAKG products are offered as capsules with a gelatine shell, Biotech USA uses a pressed tablet with a film coating for this product. The coating consists of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), a vegetable cellulose derivative.

Each tablet contains 1,000 mg arginine alpha-ketoglutarate. With an AAKG content of 62.5 %, this corresponds to around 657 mg of pure L-arginine per tablet. With the recommended daily dose of 2 tablets, this results in a total of 2,000 mg AAKG and around 1,314 mg pure L-arginine.

L-arginine is a semi-essential amino acid: although the body can synthesize it on its own, the amount produced is not sufficient in every situation. In the metabolism, L-arginine serves, among other things, as a substrate for NO synthase, the enzyme that forms nitric oxide (NO).

Recommended intake

The manufacturer recommends taking 2 tablets daily with a glass of water.
