The booster market has changed dramatically in recent years. After a period in which the product with the strongest stimulants was also the most popular, many boosters are now experiencing a development to the opposite extreme. As a result, many pre-workout supplements are no longer worthy of the name because they basically contain no ingredients that could improve training. With Narcotica Infection, GN Laboratories has succeeded in developing a unique booster. It combines a variety of highly effective ingredients that can significantly improve performance in the gym without causing the side effects of the hardcore boosters of old. No anxiety, nervousness or post-workout crash, just performance, focus and an incredible pump. Narcotica Infection takes training to a new level by promoting and optimizing a variety of physical processes. This is ensured by the three components on which the booster is based.

Pump Matrix

Narcotica Infe ction's Pump Matrix comprises a combination of various potent active ingredients. These sometimes work via different, independent pathways, making it possible to improve blood circulation on several levels. By combining L-citrulline and L-arginine, blood flow is significantly increased, which also leads to an improvement in muscle sensation and thus the training itself (1,2,3). Betaine hydrochloride also promotes blood circulation and increases nitric oxide levels in the body (4). The beet powder it contains has a similar effect. As it is rich in nitrate, which can be converted to nitric oxide in the human body, beetroot powder also promotes blood circulation (5). This is because nitric oxide is a vasodilator and dilates the blood vessels (6). With dilated blood vessels comes a whole host of other benefits. The increased blood flow also improves the supply of oxygen, important nutrients and the body's own hormones to the cells of the muscles. At the same time, improved blood flow means that toxic metabolic waste products, which inevitably accumulate in large quantities during hard training sets, can be removed more quickly (7). All of this results in increased muscle endurance and a later onset of exhaustion. In addition, regeneration between training sets and after training is also accelerated. An increased pump also results in increased muscle volume. This not only provides more strength due to better mechanical leverage, but also has several direct stimulating effects on muscle growth (8).

Energy & Neurosensory Matrix

The Energy & Neurosensory Matrix consists of a variety of effective ingredients that work together synergistically. On the one hand, it serves to improve focus and the ability to concentrate. At the same time, the ingredients also improve responsiveness and increase the energy available to the body during training. This allows the state of muscle exhaustion to be delayed, providing an even better stimulus for growth. It would go beyond the scope of this article to describe all the ingredients of the matrix and, above all, their specific effects in detail. For this reason, a list of the ingredients, supplemented by the most important properties, must suffice. Caffeine, for example, can reduce fatigue and tiredness and improve focus, concentration and reaction time (9). N-acetyl-L-tyrosine enhances this effect and is required by the body to produce the stimulating neurotransmitters adrenaline and norepinephrine (10). Taurine can delay the onset of muscle fatigue (11), as well as increase insulin sensitivity and thus the transport of nutrients into the muscles (12). Green tea extract can increase exercise endurance (13) and increase VO2max during exercise (13). Dimethyl amino ethanol and choline bitartrate both increase the ability to concentrate (14). Schisandra Chinensis fruit extract stimulates the nervous system, improves reflexes and also promotes focus and concentration (15). Guarana fruit extract has a caffeine-like effect, but has a longer duration of action and can therefore provide more energy for a longer period of time (16). The last two ingredients are Siberian ginseng root extract and theobromine, both of which have a stimulating effect and can therefore help to improve training performance (17,18)

Antioxidant & Hydrate Matrix

The Antioxidant & Hydrate Matrix has been developed to support the body with a high dose of the most effective antioxidants. During hard and intense training sessions, large amounts of free radicals are produced in the muscles as part of the energy metabolism. Free radicals can cause great damage to the body's cells. This impairs and slows down regeneration and can promote serious illnesses in the long term. The antioxidants contained in the Antioxidant & Hydrate Matrix are able to neutralize these dangerous free radicals and can therefore protect the muscles from damage (19,20). At the same time, the Antioxidant & Hydrate Matrix ensures that the body and muscle cells remain hydrated even during the most intensive training sessions. This cell-hydrating effect promotes muscle cell volume and works synergistically with the Pump Matrix. In addition, it also counteracts dehydration caused by heavy sweating. This is particularly important for performance, as even a slight dehydration of just 2% can severely impair muscle performance (21,22). The ingredients of the Antioxidant & Hydrate Matrix include hesperidin, quercetin, L-glutathione, pomegranate peel extract, astaxanthin, grape seed extract and willow bark powder extract. All of these ingredients have potent antioxidant properties and contribute to improved performance during training.

Vitamin & Mineral Matrix:

Narcotica Infection is rounded off by the vitamin & mineral matrix. Among other things, this contains vitamin B3, better known as niacin. Niacin is a water-soluble B vitamin that acts as a building block for various coenzymes. Niacin also plays a decisive role in regeneration processes after training. Vitamin B3 contributes to the replenishment of energy reserves and promotes blood circulation (23,24). With vitamin B12, the matrix contains another vitamin of the B series, which has important functions in cell division, influences the normal formation of blood cells, as well as the normal function of the immune system and contributes to the normal function of the nervous system (25). Magnesium bisglycinate completes the vitamin & mineral matrix, it is essential for ATP production and energy metabolism during exercise (26). It can also increase performance during strength training (27)

To promote the absorption of the ingredients, Narcotica Infection contains an absorption enhancer matrix in addition to the various active ingredients. This consists of the active ingredients piperine and capsaicin, which occur naturally in black pepper and cayenne pepper and are known to significantly increase the bioavailability and absorption of a wide range of ingredients and enhance their effect (28). This effect is due to the fact that piperine and capsaicin inhibit enzymes in the body that are responsible for the breakdown of supplement ingredients (28,29).

Narcotica Infection relies on raw materials from NanoPure®
