Strains and cultures are often confused, but they refer to different things. “22 strains” refers to the selection, while “30 billion CFU” refers to the amount per daily serving. The focus is on two groups that are also part of the human gut’s natural bacterial flora: bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria (lactobacilli). The specific species included are listed in the ingredients. In addition, each capsule contains 370 mg of inulin, a soluble dietary fiber derived from chicory root².

Gastro-resistant: why the coating matters

The coating is made of plant-based cellulose (HPMC), is vegan, and contains no animal-derived gelatin. At the same time, it is enteric-coated: A standard capsule dissolves in the stomach, while an enteric-coated capsule dissolves only in the intestines. For probiotics containing live cultures, the coating determines where the contents are released. We paid close attention to this acid protection when selecting the product.
