When it comes to the musculoskeletal system, we often focus on muscles, how we can best supply them with nutrients, avoid injuries and get the most out of them. However, all these factors are also crucial for the joints. That's why GN Laboratories developed Bionic Joints. Healthy joints, ligaments, tendons and bones are essential not only for athletes, but for everyone. Unfortunately, most people only realize this when they suffer from joint problems, pain and limited mobility. Even though sport is actually good for the joints, competitive sport and strength training with heavy weights can be hard on the joints. This can sometimes lead to joint wear and tear and painful inflammation of the joints (1). Optimum joint function is particularly important for athletes who put a lot of strain on their joints on the one hand, and who rely on unrestricted, pain-free joint function for their sporting performance and success on the other.
What important aspects does Bionic Joints cover?
Maintaining and supporting healthy joints involved a whole range of different aspects, all of which are equally important. Unlike most other products on the market, which tend to focus on just one of these aspects, Bionic Joints covers all of them. Bionic Joints contains a variety of different building blocks essential for the development of joint cartilage such as glucosamine, MSM, chondroitin and collagen hydrolysate. Unlike painkillers, these ingredients address the causes of the problems and do not simply relieve the pain (2). Another aspect that Bionic Joints can influence is the synovial fluid. Among other things, this serves to "lubricate" the joints to enable smooth, pain-free movements. In addition, it helps to cushion and compensate for shock loads caused by jumping and other explosive movements, thereby protecting the joint cartilage from damage (3). Bionic Joints contains a number of ingredients that have been shown to promote optimal synovial fluid production in study subjects, generally improving the function of their joints (4). In addition to this, if you have joint problems, it can be detrimental to immobilize or restrict movement of the affected joints. Movements without heavy loads contribute significantly to joint regeneration. However, such movements are only possible if they can be carried out with as little pain as possible - and this is precisely one of the aims of Bionic Joints. This brief summary only scratches the surface of the diverse effects that have been proven for the ingredients of Bionic Joints. However, it does provide a rough overview of the functions of Bionic Joints.
The ingredients of Bionic Joints
BionicJoints is made up of a blend of ingredients that scientists believe may be essential for maintaining healthy, strong bones (5). In addition to this, it also contains the innovative Bionic Joints Matrix, which has been designed to provide optimal support for joints, ligaments and tendons. Even the first mixture sets Bionic Joints apart from practically all other joint support products available on the market. As a rule, these do not influence the maintenance and promotion of resistant and stable bones, but have been developed exclusively for the joints. In our opinion, this approach is somewhat short-sighted, because what good are healthy joints if the bones where these joints are located are not up to the demands of hard and heavy training sessions?
Calcium is probably the most important mineral when it comes to building and maintaining healthy and strong bones. A lack of calcium or inadequate absorption of dietary calcium has been shown in independent studies to rapidly lead to bone demineralization and the development of osteoporosis (5). Osteoporosis is characterized by a breakdown of bone substance that severely impairs bone stability. In addition to insufficient calcium intake, an acidic diet rich in protein and cereal products and low in fruit and vegetables can also promote calcium deficiency and bone loss (6). Another important ingredient is vitamin C. While the crucial importance of vitamin D for bone stability and health may be well known to many, few realize that vitamin C is also crucial for bone formation. In studies, vitamin C inhibited bone resorption in test subjects and was an essential cofactor for collagen and calcitonin synthesis (7). Calcithonin is crucially involved in the body's calcium metabolism and prevents the release of calcium from the bones, thereby counteracting demineralization and weakening of the bones in one study (8). Manganese is another active ingredient in Bionic Joints. It is a trace element that is actively involved in cartilage formation and bone formation (9). Boron is another mineral contained in Bionic Joints which, according to scientists, fulfills several important functions in the body (10). For example, boron prevented the breakdown of vitamin D in the test group of a study and was therefore able to promote bone health (11). Copper is a trace element that is a component of the enzyme responsible for the binding of the connective tissue proteins collagen and elastin, which are necessary for the elasticity and stability of bones, ligaments, tendons and joints (12).
Bionic Joint Matrix
Our revolutionary Bionic Joint Matrix consists of a variety of proven ingredients that have been shown in scientific studies to protect joints, ligaments and tendons from overload and wear and tear. While other products only integrate the "usual suspects" such as glucosamine, chondroitin and perhaps some MSM into their joint support products, GN Laboratories has gone further and added a variety of innovative compounds to this thoroughly effective basic matrix.
Glucosamine is the classic joint nutrient. It is an essential building block of joint cartilage. Supplementation with this important building block of the joints can ensure that the body always has sufficient quantities of the raw materials it needs to regenerate and build up joint cartilage. Scientific studies have come to the conclusion that glucosamine supplementation can bring significant relief to test subjects with joint cartilage injuries and thus significantly improve joint mobility (13,14,15). In addition, glucosamine supplementation stimulated the production of synovial fluid in the test subjects, which "lubricates" the joints and makes smooth joint movement possible in the first place (16). Chondroitin sulphate is the second "classic", which is often combined with glucosamine. Chondroitin is also a component of articular cartilage, which increases the water content of the cartilage tissue and was therefore able to increase resistance to compression caused by explosive movements or heavy weights in the test group of a study (17). Chondroitin forms a large part of the mass of articular cartilage and is crucial for its structural integrity (18). The third commonly used ingredient is methyl sulfone methane - MSM for short. MSM is a biologically active form of sulfur that contains 34% elemental sulfur. Sulphur is an important component of the collagen contained in joint cartilage and MSM therefore provides the body with important building blocks for the formation of joint cartilage (19). MSM also has anti-inflammatory effects (20).
In addition to these three "classics", Bionic Joints also contains hyaluronic acid, collagen, quercetin, bromelain and cat's claw extract. Hyaluronic acid is an important component of joint cartilage, which promoted optimal joint fluid function in the test group of a study and thushelped to cushion shock loads (21). Peptan® brand collagen contains bioactive collagen peptides of types 1, IIm and 3. Peptan® provides bioactive short-chain collagen peptides that are easily absorbed by the body. These short-chain collagen peptides stimulated the cartilage cells of the joints in test subjects in a study to produce more cartilage tissue, thereby counteracting wear and tear of the joint cartilage and promoting the reconstruction of damaged joint cartilage (22). Supplementation with bioactive collagen peptides was shown in a study to lead to improved joint mobility and a significant reduction in pain in people suffering from joint problems (23). Quercetin is a flavonoid that has anti-inflammatory properties that were shown in one study to help relieve joint pain caused by inflammation (24). As an added bonus, quercetin was found to promote and accelerate post-workout recovery in the test group by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress after exercise (25). Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme also known as the pineapple enzyme. Bromelain has been shown in scientific studies to reduce inflammation by inhibiting the production of TGF-beta, thereby alleviating arthritis symptoms including swelling, pain and stiffness in the joints (26, 27). A combination of bromelain with rutoside and trypsin was found by researchers in one study to be as effective as pharmaceutical painkillers in relieving pain (28). Cat's claw extract is probably one of the most innovative active ingredients in Bionic Joints and an active ingredient that is often used in connection with joint problems. Studies have shown that the active ingredient, also known as "Uncaria Tomatosa", has an anti-inflammatory effect (29). It is therefore often used to relieve pain, but has also been used in the treatment of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis (30).
The numerous active ingredients we have just discussed have all been the subject of numerous scientific studies. When we look at the many positive effects that have been demonstrated in these studies, it quickly becomes clear what makes Bionic Joints so special. Innovative ingredients that optimally support and improve the effects of conventional joint supplements. Bionic Joints raises joint support to a new level, so that nothing stands in the way of optimum performance in the gym . Bionic Joints from GN Laboratories** - because in the end only results count.
