Universal Nutrition
Universal Nutrition is a true veteran in the sports supplement industry. It was founded over 40 years ago in 1977 in Linden, New Jersey, during the so-called golden era of bodybuilding in the heyday of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franco Columbo and Frank Zane. Initially a small family business, Universal Nutrition is still owned by the same family today and continues to stand for old school ideals. The latter is also reflected in the fact that Universal still has products from this classic era of bodybuilding in its range, such as tablets made from dried beef liver, which most modern bodybuilders are no longer even familiar with. Universal's career also began with these tablets and a protein powder made from milk and egg protein.
In 1986, the company moved to New Brunswick, New Jersey, where it still has its headquarters and modern production facilities today. For some years now, Universal has also included Animal, which was founded in 1983 and primarily targets hard-training bodybuilders, and CarbRite, which was founded in 2000 and specializes in low-carbohydrate products. Over the years, Universal Nutrition's product range has grown to include more and more products, many of which are still available today and have set standards. These include the "Pack" system introduced in 1983, which combines different products into one system product.
Today, the company's portfolio includes everything that is renowned in the field of sports supplementation. From protein powder and amino acids to vitamin and health products, diet products and the classic Universal merchandising products, there is almost nothing that Universal does not offer. Universal's target group traditionally includes primarily bodybuilders and strength athletes of all levels, but many athletes from other disciplines also like to use Universal products.
