Swampsorrel is a plant that is used to make medicine. Marsh pore tea is used for rheumatic muscle and joint pain, whooping cough, bronchitis, colds, coughs and chest and lung complaints. It is also used to stimulate the flow of breast milk, promote sweating, increase urine flow, relieve water retention and loosen phlegm. Some women use marsh samphire to induce abortion.

SwampPore tea is not safe and harmless when used in large quantities or when attempting to induce an abortion. It can cause serious stomach and intestinal irritation, kidney damage, paralysis and other serious side effects.

Precautions and warnings

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: It is not safe to use marsh pore tea during pregnancy. It can stimulate the uterus and cause abortion. Not enough is known about the safety and harmlessness of marsh samphire tea during breastfeeding, which is why breastfeeding women should avoid marsh samphire tea to be on the safe side. Stomach or intestinal problems such as gastritis or irritable bowel syndrome: marsh pore tea could aggravate these conditions.

Kidney problems: You should not use marsh pore tea if you suffer from kidney problems, as it could aggravate these problems.

Urinary tract problems such as kidney or bladder infections: Swamp pore tea could aggravate these problems and should be avoided.

Surgery: Swamp pore tea can slow down the functioning of the central nervous system. There are concerns that marsh samphire may reduce central nervous system function too much when combined with anesthetics or other medications used during or after surgery. For this reason, the use of Sumpfporst should be discontinued at least 2 weeks before upcoming operations.

Sumpfporst should not be used in combination with the following medications

Sedatives (agents that suppress the CNS)

Sumpfporst can cause drowsiness and dizziness. Drugs that cause drowsiness are called sedatives. Taking Sumpfporst in combination with sedatives could increase drowsiness too much.

An appropriate dosage of Sumpfporst depends on various factors such as age, state of health and others. At this time, there is insufficient scientific data to determine appropriate dosage ranges for Sumpfporst. For this reason, you should follow the dosage instructions on the label and/or consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
