European White Elm

The European White Elm, botanically Ulmus laevis, is a large deciduous tree from the elm family (Ulmaceae). It is native to Europe and grows preferentially in moist floodplain forests, on riverbanks, and in flood zones. With a height of up to 35 meters and a broad, loose crown, it is one of the most impressive native elm species. Characteristic are the broad, unevenly toothed leaves and the striking winged seeds, which are dispersed by the wind in spring.

However, the body of research so far is not sufficient to draw definitive conclusions about the effect, which is why more studies are needed and previous results should be viewed critically.
